


Tristar Global Safety Day 2025
Tristar celebrated Global Safety Day 2025 at the Road Transport and Warehousing facility in Jebel Ali, Dubai which was live streamed across the group network with the theme ‘Safety - A Way of Life’. Group COO Paranjay welcomed the gathering followed by Group HSEQ Manager Sridhar Srinivasalu who highlighted the International Labour Organization’s theme for 2025: ‘Revolutionizing Health and Safety: the role of AI and digitalization at work’. He further explained Tristar’s own theme that can make safety a way of life and re-emphasized the critical importance of timely intervention, usage of the Stop Work authority, and reporting near misses and potential incidents.
The program featured an insight from Professor Venkatesh Balasubramanian of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras about how AI-driver data analytics is transforming road safety. Vijumal Thajudeen, Senior Manager HSE, Operations & Project from Drydocks World -Dubai, shared about his company’s Diversity and Inclusion policies and practices, while Thomas Edelmann, Managing Director of RoadSafetyUAE updated the participants on road accident statistics in the UAE and explained the many incidents of driving distractions.
Group CEO Eugene Mayne reiterated that safety should be a way of life not only in the workplace, but also in our own homes with our loved ones. He added that safety is not just a one-day campaign but a lifetime commitment. He also awarded the winners of Best Stop Work Card Application / Intervention Award, and the Group HSSEQ Employee of the Year Award Program.
