First Shell fuel station in Sri Lanka inaugurated by Mr. Mayne


The first Shell branded fuel station has opened in Sri Lanka at B.S. Cooray Filling Station, Ambathale. This follows the signing of a retail brand license agreement by Shell Brands International AG (Shell) and RM Parks (Private) Limited, and affiliates of Shell and RM Parks (Private) Limited signing a product supply agreement in March 2024.

RM Parks (Private) Limited is a partnership of the Tristar Group (Tristar), a fully integrated energy logistics business serving the downstream oil and gas industry, and RM Parks Inc., an experienced distributor of Shell fuels in the in North American fuel retailing market.

 

RM Parks (Private) Limited will rebrand a network of 150 retail fuel stations across Sri Lanka to Shell, which it was awarded a contract to operate for an initial period of 20 years by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in 2023.

Ethiopians win Tristar Half Marathon


Abebe Getahun and Yimer Mohammed of Ethiopia were the overall winners in the Men’s and Women’s 21.1km race, respectively, at the Tristar Half Marathon held yesterday, February 23, at the Nad Al Sheba and Meydan District in Dubai.   

The two comprised the 60 nationalities who participated in the second annual running event organized by Dubai-based global energy logistics company Tristar Group.

More than 1,000 individuals joined in the four race distances, with the 21.1km course having more than 300 runners, followed by the 3km distance with almost 300 participants. More than 250 running enthusiasts joined the 10km course while more than 200 individuals ran the 5km course.

Tristar Wins 3rd Energy Supply Chain of the Year Award


Tristar received its 3rd Energy Supply Chain of the Year Award at the Logistics Middle East Awards (LMEA). The LMEA honors excelling businesses and industry pioneers from across the Middle East’s logistics and supply chain sectors. The Energy Supply Chain of the Year category was opened to companies managing logistics for the energy sector, including oil, gas, or renewables. Applicants were asked to submit documents and best practices on operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability practices. GM for Road Transport & Warehousing Shivananda Baikady received the award on behalf of the company.

JIG Training Enhances Aviation Knowledge in Central Africa Republic


Our Central Africa Republic (CAR) branch recently conducted a critical JIG Training session which focused on enhancing the skills and knowledge of aviation personnel across the country. Led by senior JIG Inspector Julius Irimu Mvrigu from Kenya, the training brought together participants from SOCASP (KOLANGO) and various aviation depots, including peacekeeping mission staff.

The participants gained valuable insights into the critical practices surrounding Jet A1 operations, significantly upgrading their expertise in the field. This initiative would contribute positively to the development of the country’s aviation fuel industry that would ensure safer and more efficient operations moving forward. Such training sessions are vital for fostering growth and excellence in the aviation sector and for equipping staff with the skills needed to meet international standards, which will help in the growth of the Aviation Industry in CAR and attract more international airlines at Bangui M'Poko International Airport.

Tristar Half Marathon to be held on February 23


Tristar Group has unveiled details of a Half Marathon to be held on February 23 at Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba and Meydan District. This is the second such event presented by the Dubai-headquartered global energy logistics firm, after launching the Tristar Community Run in February last year.

The Tristar Half Marathon will feature four runs of 21.1km, 10km, 5km and 3km, across scenic routes juxtaposed against the Dubai skyline. Registration is open in various categories across different age groups for a nominal fee, while participants for the 3km race can enrol for free. Male and female winners in the two longest races will win cash prizes.

Tristar and RoSPA at Intersec 2025


As the UAE continues to grow as a global hub for innovation and business, road safety remains a vital component of its social sustainability agenda. In year four of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 to halve road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030, Intersec 2025 will feature influential global safety leaders discussing critical road safety issues as a major social sustainability challenge.

Tristar Commissions Aviation Fuel Hydrant System at Entebbe International Airport


The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) signed an Agreement with Tristar Energy Limited, a division of UAE-based Tristar Group, for operating a newly constructed fuel storage facility and fuel hydrant pipeline system. Tristar has constructed a 12-million litres fuel storage tank farm already and laid an underground fuel pipeline to supply fuel directly to aircraft. The new facility built will hold additional fuel storage at the Entebbe International Airport, with enhanced safety for safe and good air traffic turnaround at the airport, which will benefit the Ugandan people and regional development. This will also boost the growing number of operators at the airport. 

Tristar has future expansion plans to meet any demand in the long term. When fully completed, the fuel farm will have 22 million litres storage and a 7km fuel hydrant pipeline with 43 fuel hydrant pits covering the entire airport. The storage facility and fuel hydrant pipeline are... [...]

Day of Seafarer at Port of Sohar


The Maritime Logistics Team conducted four activities in two days inside SOHAR Port and Freezone with Tristar crew members and seafarers from various service providers. On December 10, a Man Overboard Drill and a Fire Safety Drill were simulated at the Tristar Pride with the participation of the Port of Sohar Marine Safety Team,  ZERO, Port Security Police and Oman Pesco.

Next day, a clean-up activity at the Jetty called Harbor Clean Day and a free medical check-up by Aster Hospital were conducted involving all seafarers. The day ended with a Health & Safety Session and Fellowship Dinner with officials from SOHAR Port and Freezone and the entire Seafarers Community within the Port of Sohar.

From community leaders and innovators to cultural champions, the newspaper said these pioneers continue to play an important role in transforming their industries while elevating the UAE’s good standing. It added that their impact reflects the resilience, ambition, and unity that define the UAE’s success story.

Tristar Receives 10th Golden Peacock Global Award in London


Tristar Group collected its 10th Golden Peacock Global Award at the recent London Global Convention of the Institute of Directors (IOD), India. The Dubai-based energy logistics company with presence in more than 30 countries was represented by Group CEO Eugene Mayne (2nd from left) and Group CAO Balaji Nagabhushan (holding the award for Sustainability). “Discharging business responsibly is crucial to sustainable excellence and success. Golden Peacock Awards recognize the best among organisations, which have significantly embedded risk management strategies and sustainability practices into their operations and decision-making processes, leading to improved company performance,” said Dr. V.K.
