ENOC Procurement and Contracts has accorded Tristar the Gold Award as Strategic Supplier for 2011. Tristar celebrated World Environment Day (WED) 2012 on 5th June with a program on this year’s theme “Green Economy: Does it include you?” The program ended with the signing of the WED banner by UAE-based staff committing their support to the energy saving measures and recycling ideas presented by various department heads. The overseas branches in Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Pakistan, Guam, Haiti, Kenya, S. Sudan and Congo also conducted a similar program, including planting tree seedlings and sharing rides going to and from the office.
Tristar organized a breakfast forum on ‘Responsible Business and Sustainable Development’ with Ms. Habiba Al Marashi, Co-founder and Chairperson of Emirates Environmental Group, Founder and President of Arabia CSR Network, and President UN Global Compact GCC States Network. The event was held at the new training room of the Tristar Headquarter on 23rd May 2012. Ms. Habiba was welcomed by the members of the Tristar CSR Steering Committee headed by Group CEO Eugene Mayne.
<p style="text-align: justify;">Tristar has signed a document supporting the Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum and committing the company to reduce its carbon footprints and promote the concept of recycling and reusing. The forum will take place on June 15 to 18 in Rio de Jainero, Brazil, and aims to strengthen the business sector’s contribution to sustainable development globally.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne receives the 2012 Occupational Health & Safety Gold Award and the 2012 MORR (Management of Road Risk) Gold Award from Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Trustee Michael Hampson during the awarding ceremonies held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on 17th May 2012. RoSPA’s mission is to save lives and reduce injuries.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Tristar sponsored the Toastmasters International’s Division J Annual Conference held at the Etisalat Academy in Al Ghusais, Dubai, on 4th May 2012. Group CEO Eugene Mayne and several officers and members of the Tristar Toastmasters Club attended the event which saw representatives from various clubs compete in four contests, namely valuation, Humorous, Table Topics and International.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Tristar has observed Global Earth hour on 31st March in all its countries of operations, with the commitment to conserve energy throughout the year.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dubai: In order to develop communication & leadership skills of professionals, Tristar has formed Toastmaster Club, which is a part of Toastmaster International, a non-profit organization founded on 1924 by Dr. Raloh C Smedley. Toastmaster International is a world leader in communication & leadership development.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dubai: The Annual Christmas Party was hosted on 21st December at The Palace Hotel in Down Town, Souq Al Bahar. There was various fun & games activities, live band, sporadic raffle draws, lavish dinner and cocktail party which was actively participated by Tristar staff and their familiy members.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Pakistan: Tristar mobilized its Pakistan office to join hands with the governement to help the flood victims. The team prepared food bags with provisions for an average family consumption, to last for 2 weeks. These food bags were distributed in the Badin District, one of the severely affected district by the flood.</p>
