Tristar Pakistan in collaboration with the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) inaugurated Sind’s first state-of-the-art road safety training institute where drivers are trained on defensive driving by accredited trainers of NHMP. The institute will be beneficial in creating a safe driving culture in the country specifically in the south region.
Tristar has been assessed and certified by Shell Markets Middle East (SMME) as its first ‘Professional Haulier’ in the Middle East and South Asia (MESA) region for scoring above the mandatory requirements of a recent Global Haulier Assessment (GHA) audit conducted by a team of Shell executives on its UAE operations. The GHA is a comprehensive audit tool used by Shell globally to assess the operations of its road transport hauliers which cover the Seven Pillars, namely Driver Management, Journey Management, Vehicle Management, HSSE Management, Organizational Behavior, Customer Service, and Financial Efficiency. Emirates National Oil Company has joined hands with Tristar to set up a new joint venture (JV) in Saudi Arabia focused on specialised logistics services for the Kingdom’s petroleum and chemicals sectors. Envisaged as a self-contained logistics facility, the JV plans to expand its fleet strength to 500 vehicles by 2017. The JV will also operate open and covered warehousing facility for storage of oil and chemicals, and an ISO tank cleaning facility to support the growing requirements from the industry. Logistics Middle East Magazine has named Tristar Group CEO, Mr. Eugene Mayne, as the 22nd most powerful logistics executive in the Middle East and North Africa Region. Every August the magazine announces the 25 most influential executives from the warehousing and transportation sector. The Power List is now on its fourth year.
Tristar Democratic Republic of Congo sponsored a successful free medical screening camp in Kimbanseke, Kinshasa, from July 26 to 28. More than a thousand villagers benefited from the free screening for chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, etc. The CSR project was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health of the province of Kinshasa.

The whole Tristar global network celebrated World Environment Day by discussing this year’s theme, Think.Eat.Save, which is an anti-food waste and food loss campaign that encourages everyone to reduce their ‘foodprint.’ Some countries also planted trees and implemented energy saving activities. Group CEO Eugene Mayne said: “Let us therefore Think first of the food that we Eat and make an effort to Save resources related to the food supply chain.”

Mr. Mayne presented Tristar as a responsible business before 100 participants representing 50 companies which are all part of the Sustainability Network under the Centre for Responsible Business of Dubai Chamber.
The Tristar Annual Blood Donation was held on June 4 and 5 at the Tristar Head Office in Jebel Ali Industrial Area 2 and at the Tristar Labor Accommodation in Jebel Ali Industrial Area 3, respectively. This is the 3rd consecutive year that Tristar initiated the blood donation. Medical staff from Latifa Hospital conducted the blood donation camp.
