Earth Hour


Tristar Head Office and several locations commemorated Earth Hour. Some best practices to reduce electricity consumption were shared in the gatherings. Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Individuals, communities, households and businesses are encouraged to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour in the evening on the last Saturday of March every year.

Tristar unveils 2017 strategic plan


Dubai-based Tristar Transport LLC, a globally integrated liquid logistics company serving the petroleum and chemical industries, will double its revenue by 2017 with the creation of new ‘pipelines’ or revenue streams from its existing customers and expanding in other geographies, specifically in Asia and Africa. Group CEO Eugene Mayne made this announcement at the recent annual Tristar Leadership Summit held in Dubai where he unveiled the 2017 strategic plan.

Tristar receives RoSPA gold award for 3rd straight year


<p style="text-align: justify;">Tristar Transport LLC was named winner of the 2013 Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This is the third straight year the Dubai-based integrated logistics company serving the petroleum and chemical industries has won the award. Tristar wins SCATA 2014 CSR award


Tristar received the Highly Commended ‘2014 Supply Chain and Transport Award’ (SCATA) under the CSR category. The company was shortlisted with eventual winner DP World UAE Region, and Etihad Airways, RAK Free Trade Zone, Port of Salalah and Saudi Industrial Property Authority. This is the second straight year Tristar has been recognized by SCATA for its CSR initiatives especially on road safety best practices.

Tristar Safety Day


March 22 this year was declared as ‘Tristar Safety Day’ in all locations. With the theme “Let’s all get home safely, every day,” all staff gathered in their respective offices or sites and watched a video presentation and listened to the presentations. “My message for this safety day is that we all need to avoid 3Cs – Carelessness, Compromise and Complacency. We must identify unsafe behaviors in our operations and take responsibility to initiate actions that mitigate risks,” said Group CEO Eugene Mayne.

Special Town Hall Meeting on DQA


Dubai-based staff gathered at a special town hall meeting called by Group CEO Eugene Mayne to thank them for the support and cooperation they have extended to the members of the Fast Forward Task Force which put together the submission documents for the Dubai Quality Award (DQA). Seven assessors from the DQA Team assigned to Tristar by the Dubai Department of Economic Development will visit the head office on February 4 and 5 for the onsite assessment.

Road Safety Awareness for Young Students


Tristar Pakistan sponsored a road safety awareness session with National Highway and Motorway Police for young students of The Educators School in Karachi. The school children were given gift packs and valuable road safety booklets.

Professional Haulier Recognition


Tristar represented by GM for Operations and Warehousing Muhammad Akber, Group HSE Manager Faisal Bhatti, Oman country manager Victor Mascarenhas and Saif Al Ruwaishidi received the crystal miniature of a road tanker and certificate conferred by Shell to Tristar as its first Professional Haulier in the Middle East and South Asia on December 12 in Muscat, Oman. Shell was represented by Asif Ansari, Ashok Kulkarni, Mohamed Nayef, Al-Herais and Linda Philips.

Tristar distributes school bags in Haiti


Tristar Haiti launched its biggest CSR project so far with the distribution of backpacks to school children. The initiative covered four institutions in the last week of November and first week of December. The team will continue distributing in January until the 1,000th piece has been turned over. The first distribution was held on November 25 at the premises of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Development For Freedom International (DFI).

Tristar in USD 200 Million New Ship Building Deal


<p style="text-align: justify;">Tristar has reached an agreement and placed a firm order for 6 New MR Product/Chemical Tankers with Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The vessels are expected to be delivered in 2016 and will be built to the latest specifications with an improved hull form design, making them more fuel efficient and eco-friendly. When delivered it is anticipated that the ships will be placed on long term time charter with an oil major. &ldquo;This investment fits in with our long term strategy to diversify our business portfolio and to position our company as a major player in the clean product tanker segment,&rdquo; said Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne.</p>
