The Road Safety Campaign – ‘Let us go home safely’ – launched by Tristar in partnership with the RTA and RoSPA or Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents based in the UK, was declared winner in the CSR category of the Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA) conducted on April 22. The idea came from Group CEO Eugene Mayne to share Tristar’s best practices on road safety with other private and public organizations employing heavy duty commercial truck drivers.
Tristar is aiming to achieve USD700 million in revenues by the end of 2017. This was the commitment made by its senior managers and key performers during the two-day (March 28 and 29) annual Tristar Leadership Summit recently held at the Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa. Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne encouraged the participants to initiate innovative steps in increasing the revenues of the current business lines and also to create new income streams related to hydrocarbons, lubricants, chemicals and liquid gasses. Tristar has a global presence in 15 countries, with a strong focus on expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia and in the African continent.
<p style="text-align: justify;">The UAE operation of Tristar Transport LLC is certified for ISO 39001:2012 standard in recognition of the organization’s Road Traffic Safety (RTS) Management System.<br /><br />The company received the certification after a rigorous audit conducted by a team from the United Registrar of Systems (URS Certification) which is accredited with the UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service).<br /><br />ISO 39001:2012 specifies requirements for an RTS management system to enable an organization that interacts with the road traffic system to reduce death and serious injuries related to road traffic crashes. It provides a framework to help organizations reduce, and ultimately eliminate, the likelihood and risk of death and serious injury related to road traffic accidents.<br /><br />The requirements in ISO 39001:2012 include development and implementation of an appropriate RTS policy, development of RTS objectives and action plans which take into account legal and other requirements to which the organization subscribes,... Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne shared his inspiring journey on how he became an entrepreneur at the panel discussion entitled ‘Dare to Dream’ organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India held on February 7 at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai. The other panelists with Mr. Mayne were Yogesh Metha, Managing Director – Petrochem Middle East and Siddarth Balachandran, Executive Chairman and CEO – Buimerc Corporation. Two other panel discussions were conducted on the same event with Dr. BR Shetty of NMC Group and UAE Exchange, P.N.C. Menon of Sobha Developers, Dr. Azad Moopen of Aster DM Healthcare, Sanjay Manchanda of Nakheel PJSC, Sudhir Kumar Shetty of UAE Exchange, and Riyaz Peermohamed of IndiGo Airlines.

UAE-based Tristar has won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award (PMIRSA) in recognition of its extensive internal and external road safety programs. Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne (right) received the prestigious award from His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent who is also the Patron of the Commission for Global Road Safety last Tuesday, 9th December, in London. Mr. Mayne was accompanied by Tristar GM for HSEQ and Sustainability Muhammad Akber.
Tristar South Sudan donated a hand-powered borewell at the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camp in Nimule, South Sudan. With this latest borewell the total number of bores inside the camp has increased to five which altogether provide water to 1,110 families. Before many people had to walk for almost 12 kilometers to fetch clean water for drinking
The Road Safety Awareness Campaign of Tristar with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) was awarded under the Partnership Project Category of the 7th cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards 2014. Tristar was “among a handful of shortlisted ones out of a total of 155 applications that span 25 industries and 12 countries in the MENA region.”
Tristar received the Dubai Chamber CSR Label on its first application and was honored along with 13 other companies last September 25 by Hisham Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice Chairman, Dubai Chamber. Mr. Shirawi emphasized that the companies’ dedication to integrating CSR into their governance and strategy leads to increased demand for their products and services while enhancing the companies’ reputation in the market place as responsible business organizations. Tristar Chief Sustainability Officer Muhammad Akber received the CSR Label certificate on behalf of Group CEO Eugene Mayne. Some members of the Tristar Steering Committee also attended the ceremony.
