Tristar Celebrates International Women’s Day


Tristar Group hosted an women-led event to mark International Women’s Day, focussing on female empowerment and leadership in the digital era, and mirroring the United Nations’ theme, DigitALL.

“Gender equality sits at the centre of today’s major challenges: energy transition, climate change, public health, food security, water scarcity, supply chain issues, and sustainability,” Eugene Mayne, Founder and Group CEO of Tristar, observed in his opening remarks. “Involving women will address these issues more effectively and equitably.” 

“Every small marker has the potential to become a milestone in raising gender parity – in a company, in a country, in society,” he said. “Whatever we do today is well worth the effort to define and to deliver a better tomorrow for generations to come.”

Tristar Group achieves record 59 % revenue growth over 2021


Tristar Group announced its financial results for the period ended 31 December 2022, with consolidated revenue growing by 58.9% to USD 854 million, in comparison with the previous year, with normalized EBITDA reported a significant increase of 27.5% to USD 175 million, compared to 2021.The Maritime and Fuel Farms Segments delivered the highest growth, with EBITDA increasing by 63.7% and 112.3% respectively, compared to the previous year.

Tristar recognized by ENOC for exceptional performance


Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne received the crystal memento from ENOC Commercial and International Sales Managing Director Burhan Al Hashemi during the ENOC Strategic Suppliers Recognition 2023 event held on February 7 at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. Also on stage are ENOC Procurement and Contracts Group Director Reem Al Rumaithi and Tristar Group Road Transport and Warehousing General Manager Shivananda Baikady.

Tristar Wins Excellence in Fleet Safety


The Road Transport and Warehousing (RTW) division of Tristar Group in the UAE was recognized as the winner of the Excellence in Fleet Safety category at the Truck & Fleet Awards 2023 ceremony held on February 1 at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai.

The company has traveled more than 400 million kilometers without a single fatality, which was acknowledged by the judges as an extraordinary achievement in road safety. They were also impressed by the way Tristar takes care of its drivers, among other things by controlling their exhaustion, choosing safer routes, and scheduling deliveries at times when the sun is not at its brightest.

The RTW Team is also concerned with maintaining smooth client interaction and communication throughout the delivery process. Executive MBA students from Canada visit Tristar Group in Dubai


Tristar Group was one of eight business and government organizations in the UAE recently visited by Executive MBA (EMBA) students at Haskayne School of Business – University of Calgary. The interaction with Tristar’s senior executives was under the EMBA’s International Study Tour curriculum where students examine the effects of globalization on international and Canadian business, as well as learn about the operations and contributions of business and government organizations in a particular region.

Group CEO Eugene Mayne, together with Group CFO Marco Bachechi and the heads of Tristar’s various business verticals, shared the company’s best practices as a fully integrated energy logistics solutions provider to the downstream oil and gas industry across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Pacific, the Americas, and Europe.

Tristar World Newsletter Available Online


The Tristar World quarterly newsletter was launched in 2011 and printed on an 8-page layout until January 2018.  From April 2018  to September 2021, the pages increased to 12. Then from January 2022 to August 2022 another page was added, making the newsletter a 13-page layout.

Tristar 8th Annual External Stakeholders’ Workshop


Tristar Group conducted its 8th annual External Stakeholders’ Workshop with its customers, suppliers, private companies, media partners and NGOs who were updated on the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and goals. The gathering was held at the Tristar head office in Jebel Ali.

The attendees were asked to rate Tristar’s Materiality issues related to ESG and Sustainability. The results will be shared by Tristar in its 2022 Sustainability Report in line with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Ten Principles and GRI Standards. 

The UNGC has required all member-companies to submit an annual Communication on Progress or COP which mentions their adherence to its Ten Principles covering Labor, Human Rights, Environment and Anti-corruption.

Tristar Silver Muna Rescues 2 Men and a Dog


The Associated Press reported on December 13 that the U.S. Coast Guard said two men and a pet dog have been rescued from a sailboat more than 200 miles off Delaware's coast and 10 days after friends and family last heard from them.

The report said Kevin Hyde, 65, and Joe Ditomasso, 76, were sailing from Cape May, New Jersey, to Marathon, Florida but disappeared after their Atrevida II sailboat left North Carolina's Outer Banks on December 3.

The Coast Guard was notified that the two sailors were overdue and launched a search that would stretch from Florida to New Jersey, the agency said. Coast Guard cutters and aircraft participated in the search along with ships from the U.S. Navy and commercial and recreational vessels.

Cryogenics Division at MENA Industrial Gases Conference


Tristar Group’s Cryogenics Division led by Paul Vincent participated at the MENA Industrial Gases Conference 2022 in Abu Dhabi from December 12 to 14, 2022. The division in under the Road Transport and Warehousing (RTW) business. Also in photo is Sameeta Shankar, Executive -Customer Service (RT&W).

The division offers transportation services, leasing of cryogenic ISO tanks and road tankers, in addition to consultation, engineering and intermodal transport services for cryogenic liquid and gaseous products. The division complements Tristar’s existing downstream oil and gas surface logistics business.

It recently launched the Cryogenic Technical Center and Fleet Maintenance Workshop in Dammam, Saudi Arabia which provides additional services like cryogenic fleet maintenance, design and supply of gas skids, piping installations, etc. along with the existing transport contracts with major industrial gas clients.

Tristar’s UAE and Oman Road Transport operations get Shell Middle East Awards


Shell Middle East’s Lubricants Supply Chain division awarded Tristar’s UAE and Oman Road Transport operations the Best in HSE Performance and Overall Middle East Contractor of the Year 2022. The event was initiated by Shell to recognize the contributions of its partners and external stakeholders in the safe and efficient distribution of lubricants in the region.

In a reenactment of the awarding ceremonies first held in Cairo on November 24, Ahmed Hilal, Shell Middle East Lubricants Supply Chain (LSC) General Manager, turned over the trophy to Eugene Mayne, Tristar Group CEO, at the Tristar Head Office in Jebel Ali on December 8. The LSC management team of Shell and the Road Transport and Warehousing (RTW) staff of Tristar who are based at the head office witnessed the event.
